For warm chestnut-brown soap shades & candle surfaces
Natural mica refined from minerals and milled to an ultra-fine powder. A beautiful warm brown with red undertones, clean pearlescent glow, and excellent dispersion in CP/HP/MP.
Chestnut Brown adds natural depth and velvety reflections to swirls, embeds, and layered bars. Its subtle red undertones warm the palette without pushing it too red. On white/clear bases, the pearlescent effect looks even cleaner. As candle surface décor, it delivers an elegant sheen with good adhesion.
🔬 Evidence-Based Material Benefits
- Alkaline pH stability — ideal for cold process soaps.
-
Fine particle distribution for silky dispersion and a clean pearly reflection.
-
Non-bleeding behaviour for crisp layers and designs that stay stable over time.
📌 How to Use & Dosage
-
Cold Process (CP): 0.5–2% w/w (≈ 1–3 g/kg). Pre-disperse in glycerin or a light oil.
-
Hot Process (HP): 0.5–1.5% w/w, add at the finishing stage.
-
Melt & Pour (MP): 1–3 g/kg, pre-disperse in isopropyl alcohol or a little base.
-
Bath Bombs: 0.5–1% w/w, pre-mix with oil/polysorbate for uniform payoff.
-
Mica line / Dusting (surface): thin line between layers or light brush on a dry surface.
-
Candles (surface): rub/brush onto a dry surface for refined shine & good adhesion. Not recommended for mass colouring (may affect wick performance).
