Organic Milk Thistle Oil cold pressed (100ml)

This oil, pressed from the seeds of the milk thistle, is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and is an exceptionally valuable oil in terms of health. The milk thistle also known as Our Lady’s thistle or the Holy thistle was grown back in medieval times in monastery gardens for healing purposes. Today, it is increasingly coming into the focus of orthodox medicine and homeopathy.

The oil is also rich in Vitamin E, which helps protect cells against oxidative stress. Some 2.5 tbsp. (= 25 ml) of Milk Thistle Oil alone already meets 90 % of our daily requirements of the vitamin. Our BIO PLANÈTE Milk Thistle Oil has a pleasantly mild and slightly nutty taste, adding an interesting touch to salads, dressings and dips and refining not just hot vegetables but also yogurt and smoothies. However it is used, it should always be served cold to protect the precious ingredients.

Has Anti-Aging Effects: Because milk thistle’s antioxidants help prevent free radical damage throughout the body and remove pollutants and waste from the blood and digestive tract, the herb may actually help slow the aging process. This applies to both the surface of your skin and your organs, as antioxidants can protect your body from chronic disease.

Brain health: Milk thistle appears to have neuroprotective properties and there is early research suggesting it may be beneficial for multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. Animal studies also suggest that silymarin may suppress the formation of amyloid beta-protein (a toxic protein linked to Alzheimer’s), thereby helping reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Diabetes: Among people with diabetes, those who took silymarin for four months experienced improvements in their glycemic profile, including a significant decrease in glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c — a measure of blood sugar average over the last three months), fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides
