Rooibos red tea
Although Rooibos is considered a «tea» , it is actually a herb from South Africa and differs greatly from tea (Camellia sinensis). Often described with very intense and full of sweet flavor without adding sugar. Anemia, or low iron content, is a common problem during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Many teas prevent your body to absorb iron because of an ingredient called tannin. The Rooibos contains the minimum amount of tannins which makes it safe during the pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Rooibos tea has a longer steeping time than most other teas. The shortest amount of time it should steep is four to five minutes, but studies have shown that steeping rooibos tea for five to ten minutes greatly increases the amount of antioxidants and nutrients in the finished cup.
Japanese scientists have found that Rooibos tea has beneficial effects associated with constipation, liver function, blood sugar levels in the blood, skin diseases, depression and anxiety. It can also be beneficial in cases of dyspepsia, where relief from nausea, vomiting and heartburn.
