Litlle cypress or Micromeria juliana - Wild Savory was known from antiquity mainly because of its aromatic properties.
Dioscurides, like other botanists and physicians of that time, gave therapeutic benefits to this herb for a variety of conditions and diseases such as colds, hyperchondria (heartburn), stomach and duodenal ulcers, intestinal worms, influenza, bronchitis, nausea, etc. The therapeutical properties attributed to the herb, in theory, for all the above diseases, found perfectly in accord with the popular therapists who administered it to their patients as an decoction.
It is also widely used in cooking to aroma in meats, sauces and other herbs such as oregano and savory.
Usage: For treatment of stones in the kidneys or bladder, the herb is made as a decoction. Boil about 6 grams of dry herb in 2.5 cups of water for 5 minutes and leave it covered for 10 minutes. We drink half of it in the morning and the rest in the afternoon for 10 days.
