Sodium carbonate (soda) has many uses.

Can be used:

~ As a laundry detergent enhancer, bleach and water softener (1 tablespoon with detergent)
~ As a hard surface cleaner (as a "paste" with very little water)
~ As a general cleanser (1 teaspoon in 2 cups hot water and then sprayed)
~ As a smoke cleaner (fireplace, oven, barbecue and so on)
~ As an antibacterial and antifungal.

It is used as a color stabilizer in clothing dyes.

~ Do not swallow
~ Avoid any contact with the eyes and the skin. We recommend wearing gloves when using it.
~ Do not mix it with oxides in closed container (gas released)
~ Do not put it in aluminum
~ Do not put it on polished, lacquered or painted surfaces.
