DESCRIPTION

(Euphrasia officinalis) It is particularly effective in cases of eye infections, conjunctivitis, eye stinging accompanied by excretions (acidic, caustic tears), blepharitis, light hypersensitivity and cataracts.

External it is used either as an eye compress or as an eye wash. It is considered particularly effective in cases of ocular infections. In allergenic cases that affect the eyes can be combined with Ephedra. In the form of eye lotions, it is well combined with Goldenseal root and distilled Witch hazel.

Internally, it is used to treat respiratory problems, and can be used in nasal infancy, sinusitis and other congestive conditions. Eughrasia can also be used as a mouthwash (rinse or gargle) for inflammation and infections of the mouth and throat

It is best known for eye diseases where it helps in acute or chronic inflammation, stinging and tearing eyes, and hypersensitivity to light. As an eye compress it is also used in cases of conjunctivitis and blepharitis.

Eyebright contains glucosides (including ocurbine), saponins, tannins, volatile oil, rich in vitamins A, B, C, D and E as well as traces of copper, zinc and silicon.

It is prepared as an infusion. pour a cup of boiling water into 1 teaspoon of dry herb and leave for 10-15 minutes. We drink the tea three times a day.

For eye compresses, pour a tablespoon of dry herb in half a liter of water and boil for 10 minutes. Let it cool down a bit. Moister the compress (cotton, gauze or linen) in the warm liquid, squeeze it lightly and place it on the eyes. Leave for 15 minutes. We repeat the use of the compress several times a day.
